How to Enjoy the Process of Obtaining Your Goal

Not where you want to be yet? Annoyed that your work or tik toks haven't blown up yet? It's easy to get depressed and down on yourself but that is the worst thing you can do. Listen to find a better way and enjoy the process of your journey. You are just where you need to be.

Hey, Hey, Hey, it's me, Jen, from the GIRLBRAVE podcast here today with your weekly installment of encouragement. How are you? Have you had a good week? Are you getting your projects started? I wanted to talk a little bit about impatience because I have a lot of impatience when it comes to reaching my goals. And it's really easy for me to get too impatient when I start comparing and myself to others. So the whole thing came up this morning when I got a message on a tik tok that said that my handwriting is so refined and took me back because I really struggled with getting that handwriting and the way I like it, it took about a year of looking at other people's handwritings, trying to copy what they do, just to get the feel of it, to refine it to where it's completely mine.

And it wasn't easy. You would think that, Oh, handwriting it's easy, but it was not easy for me. And, you know, without that person leaving that comment, I probably never would have really recognized that I have come a long way and I am where I'd like to beat with my handwriting. Um, but it didn't happen over night. And I remember struggling with that when I was working on it, thinking how do they do that? Yes, it's so hard. And now that I have it the way I like it, it seems like no big deal. So today I am here to tell you that you already have done so many things. So if you ever start to feel frustrated or impatient, that things aren't happening fast enough for you write down a list of everything that you've already accomplished. Take out a notebook, open it up to a blank page, get your favorite pen. Just start writing down everything that you've accomplished and take a look at that list.

It doesn't seem like a big deal in the rear view mirror does it, but believe me, if you remember back to when you started, it was a really big deal. So let's not forget how far we've come. And so whatever you're working on now that you're impatient or frustrated that it's not happening fast enough and believe me, I have plenty of those things in my head kicking around. Just think this is going to be nothing after you've accomplished it. You will always be striving for the next thing. You will never get it done. So while you were in the middle of the step that you're on, the place that you're at right now, your biggest goal is to enjoy it. And to have fun with it, you would never want to get to the end. You would be so bored. You want these struggles, you want these challenges, this tell yourself to enjoy them. And then you can add them to your list. After it's done. Here are some of the things that I would recommend you not doing is comparing yourself to others, thinking that they have more than you have, or that they're more talented than you, or they have more followers than you. That just puts you in a negative space. And it's just not good for your creativity. So don't do that.

If you've got goals and they're not actually coming to fruition yet, then divide them into smaller chunks. And then you can start checking those off, make a list of all of the steps that it takes to get to your goal and then go in and cross off each step that you have that will feel like an accomplishment, right? You don't have to get from a to Z in one step. It takes lots of steps. I believe in you. I know you can do it. Come back to this podcast. If you needed some reassurance or to remember that you've already done so much, and this thing that you want to do to you will do, and it will happen and you'll be excited about it. And then the next day of move on to the next thing.

So enjoy yourself, enjoy the process, enjoy the, the problems or the solutions that you have to come up with. That's the fun part. That's the learning part. That's why we do what we do is to get over those hurdles. All right. So don't put a mental mind block in front of you as a hurdle because you'll have other hurdles to get over. You be your biggest cheerleader. I know I am. I know. I feel how you feel. And when I think about what you're working on, and if you're discouraged, I just want to give you a big hug. I know you'll get it done. I know this will workout. I know he will accomplish this because you are incredible and you can do anything you decide to, you can do this. I believe in you.
