I was touched by the story Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson told about feeling alone and like an outsider as she was walking through the Harvard Yard and as another Black woman passed her, who she didn't know, leaned over and said: "Persevere" to the Freshman, Ketanji.
I love the power of that single act of kindness.
I started this piece out in Adobe Illustrator, then brought it in to ProCreate on my iPad to add the highlights and shadows. I also used my hand lettering for the word, Persevere.
